Custom Salary Calculator for Your Company
A take-home pay calculator with your 401(k) match, health insurance tiers, and benefits — embedded on your intranet or careers site. Built for HR teams that want employees to see their actual paycheck, not generic national averages.
What You Get
A salary calculator with your company's actual benefits — not a generic national-average tool. Three things matter: the calculation must be right, the deployment must be safe, and the logic must be auditable before your employees see it.
Real paychecks, not estimates
Your 401(k) match formula, your health insurance premium tiers, your HSA limits, your state rules. Employees enter their actual elections and see their actual net pay — federal withholding, state, FICA, per-paycheck breakdown.
Stays on your side of the wall
Static HTML/JS, runs in the employee's browser. No backend to maintain, no employee data sent to us or any third party. Host it on your intranet, your careers site, or we serve it on a salarylabs.site subdomain you embed via iframe.
Auditable before it goes live
The calculation logic is reviewable in plain English before delivery. We document every formula source — IRS Publication 15-T, state withholding tables, FICA wage bases, FLSA thresholds — and the engine updates weekly from canonical sources.
Pricing
Every engagement is scoped before quoting, because the work varies. The four tiers below cover most requests; if your situation is different we'll say so in the first email.

What We Need From You
Four documents, usually gathered in a single afternoon. Most HR teams have everything in their benefits folder already; if anything is missing, we have a template you can fill in.
Benefits documentation
401(k) match formula, health insurance premium tiers (employee-only, employee+spouse, family, etc.), HSA limits if offered, any other pre-tax or post-tax deductions. We have a 1-page intake form if you'd rather not compile.
State coverage
If your employees are in multiple states, we need each state's rules. If you operate in one state, just that one. State withholding tables and local taxes handled automatically.
Branding
Logo, color palette (if you have one), your preferred tone. Skip all of it and we ship a clean neutral professional look that fits most career centers.
Hosting decision
Either we host on a salarylabs.site subdomain and you embed via iframe, or we deliver the static files for your web team to host on your domain. Either works; both run client-side with no external calls.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything HR teams ask before they engage. If your question isn't here, send it to [email protected] and we'll respond within a business day.
What is a custom salary calculator?
It is the same calculation engine that powers SalaryLabs, but with your company-specific inputs baked in: 401(k) match formula, health insurance premium tiers, HSA contribution limits, state-specific rules, and your branding. Employees see accurate take-home pay based on their actual elections, not generic national averages.
How is this different from the free SalaryLabs calculator?
The free calculator at salarylabs.site uses standard IRS defaults and user-provided state tax rates. The custom version uses your company's actual benefits structure, so an employee entering their salary and 401(k) contribution sees exactly what their paycheck will look like under your plans.
Where does the calculator run?
On your domain, in the employee's browser, with the same client-side architecture as the public SalaryLabs calculators. We do not collect or store any employee salary, tax, or benefit data. The calculator is static HTML/JS, served from your web property or ours.
How long does a custom build take?
Template + Setup ships in 3-5 days. Quick Build (1-2 calculators) typically ships in 2-3 weeks after we receive your benefits documentation. Custom Build (up to 5 calculators) takes 4-6 weeks depending on complexity. The retainer covers ongoing updates and new domains.
What is the founding partner rate?
For the first 5 customers, we offer 25% off the standard rate. The catch: your rate steps up to the standard price after 12 months, unless you lock in our lifetime 15% retainer discount by month 11. The benefit to you is direct Slack access during the build, a named case study (with your approval), and priority support. The benefit to us is real case studies for our portfolio. The founding window closes after 5 partners.
Do you handle compliance with IRS, DOL, and state rules?
The calculation engine is built on IRS Publication 15-T methodology and reflects current federal withholding tables, FICA wage bases, and FLSA thresholds via a weekly cron that updates the canonical data. We document our methodology at /methodology/ and the engine is open for review before delivery.
Can we use this on our intranet, behind login?
Yes. The static files run anywhere HTML runs. We deliver them as a zip or via git. Your IT team can host them on any web server, intranet portal, or knowledge base. No external network calls are required for the calculations themselves.
What if our benefits change during the year?
Every Quick Build and Custom Build includes 90 days of bug-fix support after delivery. For ongoing benefits changes (new HSA limit, updated 401(k) match, premium adjustments), the retainer is the right fit. We update the calculator and redeploy without you needing to touch the code.
Do you have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. 14-day money-back guarantee on every Quick Build and Custom Build. If the calculator doesn't fit your needs within 14 days of delivery, full refund. No questions, no fine print.
